How to reduce spindle thermal deformation

2017-01-06

The deformation of the machine tool after heating is an important reason for affect machining accuracy.Lathe Machine will expend energy when working. These energy will be transformed into heat in a variety of ways, causing the physical changes in machine components. These change vary because of different structures and different forms of materials.Machine tool designers should master the formation mechanism of heat and temperature distribution to reduce impact of thermal deformation on the processing accuracy.
How to reduce the thermal deformation of the spindle ?
1.Reduce the heat source, focusing on the spindle bearing speed, clearance adjustment and reasonable preload. For thrust bearings and tapered roller bearings.because of their poor working conditions. It can be replaced by thrust angular contact ball bearings if necessary,
in order to minimize the friction of some parts.
2 Let heat source be away from the spindle, such as the motor, transmission isolation and use separate transmission etc.
3 Strengthen the lubrication and cooling, adopt oil cooling and air-cooled etc to speed up the heat distribution.
4 Reduce the impact of thermal deformation as far as possible.
